Welcome,

I'm Adriana Rizk, a passionate and dedicated student at the University of Texas at Austin, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and working towards double majoring in music. My life is a vibrant blend of academic pursuits, musical endeavors, volunteering, and a commitment to health and fitness. Above all, I cherish the time spent with loved ones, believing it to be the most precious thing in life.

Education and Background

My academic journey at UT Austin has been both challenging and rewarding. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Pre-Health Professions Certificate and have aspirations to double major in music. Through my major I've actively engaged in collaborative projects, such as collecting and analyzing data on sleep and stress among UT students. I also perform with the University Orchestra at UT Austin, which allows me to connect with students from varied academic backgrounds, enhancing my musical skills while collaborating with a talented and varied group of musicians.

Professional Experience

I have professionally performed the violin in different settings, a memorable performance was for the Bear Creek Baptist Church Christmas Performance.

I have also taught violin for about three years at Dorre Intermediate School, and the Butler School of Music String Project, focusing on the joy and skill-building aspects of music education.

Finally I've also worked as a Conference Assistant at UT Austin. This role honed my skills in event coordination, emergency response, and public speaking. Balancing these responsibilities with my summer classes taught me valuable organizational and multitasking skills.

Volunteering

I am deeply committed to giving back to the community through various volunteer activities. At the Abandoned Animal Shelter in Houston, I exercised and trained dogs, and with Rescue with PTSD, I helped train shelter dogs to become service dogs for veterans. Additionally, I have shared my musical talents by playing the violin at various places, including the Houston Methodist Hospital, bringing joy and comfort to patients and staff. Now, in Austin volunteer with Students Care, an organization connecting college students with hospitalized children and isolated older adults.

Personal Interests

and Hobbies

Outside of academics and professional commitments, I have a deep passion for health and fitness. I enjoy lifting weights, running, practicing yoga, and being outdoors. Journaling has been a cherished habit for over five years, allowing me to reflect on my experiences and growth. In addition, I enjoy blogging and working on building my website, which serves as another creative outlet for me. Finally, music remains a constant in my life, I've played the violin for over 8 years now, currently with Butler School of Music being my favorite place to practice the violin.
